內容摘要：
在擔任中學生統計習作及創意寫作兩個比賽的評審工作中，兩位講者都觀察到香港學生在學習統計的課題上很多特別之處。學生的強弱之處對老師在統計課題上的教學可帶來怎樣的啟示呢？在帶領學生進行統計習作時怎樣才可以發揮他們的獨特性呢？兩位講者將會在是次研討會中為我們分享他們的觀察及創見。

Mathematics Pedagogy Study Group First Gathering (2009-2010)

This is the first gathering of the Mathematics Pedagogy Study Group, initiated by the mathematics sub-committee of the HK Association for Science and Mathematics Education. The followings are the main objectives of the study group:

1. Explore and develop mathematics pedagogy based on investigations in teaching and learning of selected topics.
2. Relate the investigations to resources that are generated in other activities involving the sub-committee or the Assessment and HKEAA Section.

In the first gathering, a short presentation will be given by Anthony Or and Arthur Lee regarding recent projects in exploring teaching and learning of co-ordinate geometry and 3D geometry in Key Stage 3. This will be followed by free discussion about possibilities of similar investigations among the group members and plan for further activities in the coming school year.

All mathematics teachers are welcome.

 Prof. Richard Askey is a distinguished mathematician. He has involved quite heavily on school mathematics education.

由香港數理教育學會及香港科技大學聯合舉辦的「數理遊蹤2010」將於二零一零年五月八日（星期六）上午在香港科技大學校園舉行。

該活動的目的是透過一項日常生活處境的數理追蹤遊戲，提高學生靈活運用知識解難的能力。是次比賽亦為香港數理教育學會紀念已故主席吳重振老師的其中一項活動。

每隊參賽隊伍由三位中三級或以下的學生組成，在比賽中按指定的追蹤路徑完成一連串的數學問題及科學探究活動。數學系本科生將全程協助確保比賽順利完成。在比賽進行期間，我們為領隊老師安排了一個題為「How to define π and prove its existence」的講座，主講嘉賓為香港科技大學數學系蔣翼邁博士。賽後評分期間，我們亦邀請了香港科技大學副校長鄭紹遠教授為參賽學生主持另一個講座，講題為「Key Exchange Scheme」。
由於場地所限，是次比賽名額設為三十隊，每間學校只能提名壹隊學生參加，而報名將以抽籤方式處理。報名結果將於二零一零年四月廿八日（星期三）或以前傳真通知學校，及在香港科技大學教育發展組網頁www.edp.ust.hk公佈。

 屯門區中學校長會與香港數理教育學會合辦「屯門區校際初中數學比賽」至今已是第八屆，

這比賽不單為中學生提供一個數學交流的機會，也提高初中學生對數學的興趣及協作解難能力。

比賽共分為三個部份，包括：

第一部份：計算題  (個人項目)

第二部份：解難題  (隊際項目)

第三部份：互動幾何解難題  (隊際項目)

此外，屯門區中學校長會與本會也希望藉此機會推動數學老師交流，因此，於比賽當日

會舉辦兩場公開講座，歡迎所有數學老師參加。
